This page explains how to delete your LABD account, what is deleted with it, and what happens to the laboratories you own. It applies to the LABD mobile application and to the LABD web application at labd2.cyber-man.pl, which share one account.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. LABD has no archive, no recycle bin and no way to restore a deleted account or a deleted laboratory.
How to delete your account
- Open the LABD application and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete account.
- Read the summary. It lists, by name, which of your laboratories will be deleted, which will be handed to another member, and which you are simply leaving.
- Type your password and confirm.
Your password is required because it is the only thing LABD can use to check that the request is really yours. LABD does not collect an email address, a phone number or any other identifier, so there is nothing else to verify you against.
If you cannot sign in
LABD has no password reset. If you have lost your password you cannot delete the account yourself, and we cannot confirm over email that an account belongs to you, because we hold nothing that could prove it.
Write to labd@cyber-man.pl and we will work out what evidence is available in your case — for example, confirmation from other members of a laboratory you belong to. We action requests we can verify within 30 days and confirm when it is done.
What happens to your laboratories
A laboratory has one owner and any number of other members. What happens to each of yours depends only on whether anybody else is in it.
Laboratories you own that nobody else is a member of. The laboratory, its name, its room layout and every reagent stored in it are deleted along with your account.
Laboratories you own that other people use. Ownership passes to another member so that the room keeps working for them. It is not deleted, and its contents are not changed. You lose all access to it.
The new owner is the member with the highest access level; where several have the same level, the one who has been a member longest.
Laboratories you are a member of but do not own. Your access is removed, exactly as if you had left. The laboratory and its contents belong to its owner and are untouched.
The application resolves all of this and names the affected laboratories before you confirm, so you are never agreeing to a rule — you are agreeing to a list.
What is deleted
- Your username and the encrypted form of your password.
- The date your account was created.
- Your membership of every laboratory, including the record of when you joined and at what access level.
- Every laboratory you own that has no other member, with its name, its layout and all of its stored reagents.
- Your session, so you are signed out everywhere.
What is kept
Nothing about you remains in the LABD database after deletion. Your username is released and can be registered again by anyone.
Laboratories handed to another member are kept, because they are that member's working inventory and not yours to delete. Your name is not retained in them.
Data held on your own device — the cached copy of your laboratories and your session token — is removed when you are signed out, and in any case by uninstalling the application.
Before you delete
- If you want to keep a laboratory's contents, export or copy them first. There is no export after deletion.
- If you have made changes in the mobile application while offline and they have not yet been sent, deleting the account discards them. The application warns you when this is the case.
- If you want a laboratory to go to a specific person rather than the one the rule picks, make them the highest-access member first, or hand it over and then delete your account.
